History of the brand

The Rolls-Royce name derives from the surnames of the company founders, Henry Royce and Charles Rolls. When they met in Manchester in 1904, they agreed to create a company that would later go on to manufacture the 'best car in the world'.

As the Rolls-Royce organisation grew, and expanded through its diverse markets, the value of our famous name and brand was extended. This company today manufactures luxury automobiles and accessories in the name of Rolls-Royce from its headquarters in Goodwood, England. Its identity system and brand are consistent with the original principles of the company founded over 100 years ago.

Rolls-Royce plc retains the registrations for its trademarks for use in markets other than the motor industry. Its holding company, Rolls-Royce Group plc, is perceived as a contemporary, global engineering company operating in the aerospace, defence, marine and energy markets. As a market leader, our identity has changed to reflect these different characteristics of the company, without losing the connections with our strong heritage.

Our identity system has evolved from the original marque. Adding the company name and a new colour scheme has positioned the business as an international blue-chip organisation.

What’s going on guys, Jon here again. The picture below proves that an uprated Yamaha FZ8R is due out in 2012. We have been seeing teaser shots over the internet for the last few weeks, but this is the first full shot of the bike.

It boasts uprated fork internals, an Ohlins rear shock, a performance exhaust (thought to be produced by Laser) and revised badging. The brakes remain unchanged from the old model.

Suzuki Motors Corporation had achieved wonderful sales numbers with its popular hatchback Suzuki Swift which sells in India also with the name Maruti Suzuki Swift. The Maruti Swift is the Indian version of Suzuki Swift which sells 124 countries including Japan, Hungary, India, China and a lot of European countries. Suzuki Swift was first introduced in Japan back in Nov 2004. In these 6 years of its journey, Swift has completed its one million (10 Lakh) sales mark in the year 2008 January while the second million completed in slightly less time of about 3 years. The 2 million mark (20 lakh) of Swift sales was reached in January 2011. Of these 20 Lakh Swift cars sold worldwide, about 7.8 Lakh cars have been sold in India alone! The success story of Swift may further reach more heights with the new model of Marti Swift 2011 scheduled for launch this year in India. Many people in India are holding their purchase of their Swift Car waiting for the next generation model to be launched officially in India. The mew model of Swift which will come with larger dimensions, better interiors and better suspensions and performance is likely to take its sales graph further northwards.

Maruti SX4 TV Commercials– “Now Men Will Make Everything Else Wait!”

Maruti Suzuki is promoting its latest sedan Maruti SX4 Diesel on TV with not one, but 4 TV commercials which portray the power and muscle of the SX4 Diesel. Usually the mindset of Indian buyers towards the diesel cars is that they are not punchy enough, so the ads target that angle of thought. The campaigns have a common punch line – "Now Men Will Make Everything Else Wait!"

These ads show men being indulged in the power and performance of car so much so that that they forget other important things around them. Also one more thing I have observed about the SX4 campaigns is that most of these commercials are gender biased towards men. The creative guys maybe doing it to attract more men as they usually prefer powerful cars, but they must not forget that women also make a large number of car buyers. I would not like to comment further on these commercials, you can have a look at them below. Some of them are kind of funny also.

Maruti Kizashi Bookings Higher Than Expected

Maruti Suzuki does know what it is doing when it comes up with a new product. The brand name has become very strong and reliable in India that people rely on it. The same goodwill and customer confidence is working wonders for the recently launched luxury sports sedan Maruti Suzuki Kizashi in India. There has been more than 350 bookings for Kizashi within 4 weeks of its official launch in India.

Mayank Pareekh, Executive Officer (Marketing and Sales), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. quoted on this achievement:

Bookings for Kizashi have beaten company expectations.

Which is surely a good sign of buyer's trust and affinity towards the luxury sports sedan. Maruti Kizashi has been launched on 2nd Feb 2011 with an introductory ex-showroom price of Rs. 16.5 Lakhs for Manual transmission to Rs. 17.5 Lakhs for CVT automatic transmission. The Kizashi is in direct competition with the other luxury sedans like Honda Accord, Skoda Laura, Toyota Camry and Volkswagen Jetta. If the demand remains strong and there is substantial sale of Kizashi in India, Maruti may decide to import it as a CKD rather than CBU and further reduce the prices with the tax savings. This price reduction can be passed on to customers which will further boost the sales of Kizashi in India. But for that time to come, we need to wait for at least some months and see the car on Indian roads, its feedback and Indian customer satisfaction levels with this sedan.

Honda Brio Small Car Launch In March 2011 Rumors High !

Nothing is official yet but there is already a lot of buzz online about the Brio launch on 17 March 2011. As per our previous reports, the small car Honda Brio from Honda India will be launched around September 2011. We still believe that Honda will launch it in September 2011 on road. There maybe pre-launch bookings which maybe announced 3 months prior to the start of deliveries of the small car. Honda Brio is a very ambitious project by Honda in India. The small car will feature a 1.2 Litre 3 cylinder highly efficient iVTEC engine which powers Honda Jazz. The Brio will be low on cost and will compete head on will the most popular small cars from India including the Hyundai i10, Maruti Swift, Chevrolet Beat, Volkswagen Polo, Ford Figo, etc.. The design and technology of the Brio are quite promising, and if the cost comes out be be close to less than a Rs. 5 Lakh price tag, it is highly likely to be a high selling hatchback for Honda in India. We expect the pricing will be done right because Honda India has learn its lessons from the sales figures of Honda Jazz with which is a high priced hatchback in Indian market.

Budget 2011 – No Excise Dusty Hike Announced For Cars

It's a good new for the automobile industry in India which has been reporting a strong growth in past some time. Both the car makers and buyers had their worried about expected rise in car prices post Indian Union Budget 2011 as there were speculations in the industry about a potential increase of prices because of excise duty increase expected. Also there has been no mention of any special change in small Diesel Engine car prices as proposed by the "Kirit Parikh committee" in their report. On taxes and reforms front also, the budgets is perceived to more or less neutral and does not hurt much to any specific industries. Since there has been no significant rise in taxes, it will help retain the purchasing power of the consumers to buy cars. We expected that Indian automobile industry will continue its good growth in the financial year 2011-12 as it has done on the current financial year.

The Swedish car manufacturer Koenigsegg will exhibit the new Agera R at Geneva 2011 (between three and 13 March next): some official pictures and some details are already popular, a few hours ago. The performance and even sportier version of Koenigsegg Agera, identified by the addition letter “R “, appears to have been first requested by a wealthy Arab buyer (according to some indications, would be the Omani family that has commissioned the particular configuration) and that only Following the Northern European company has decided to give birth to the declination Agera R to a wider group of customers (do not know the volume of circulation, but the price is: € 1,180,000).

The difference from Koenigsegg Agera? The power of the new R Agera is handled by a robotic double-clutch transmission with seven speeds and is transferred to ground through the rear axle: Agera R is equipped with Michelin tires designed specifically for durability up to 416 kilometers per hour and alloy wheels Vortex Generating Rim defined, engineered and designed to increase the grip of the new supercar Koenigsegg Agera R.

A curiosity: if you asked you what that trunk is applied over the roof of the new Koenigsegg Agera R, know that this is a special extra luggage space, designed by Thule and commissioned by the Swedish car maker, built in carbon fiber and proposed to € 18,600. The only drawback: the maximum speed limit of 297 kilometers per hour.

With the free racing game for the iPhone called Asphalt Audi RS 3, players can choose between two tracks (Bahamas and Tokyo), both of which feature thrilling graphics.

The iPhone app, which is available from the Apple App Store, was designed in partnership with Gameloft. Gameloft is the world’s biggest developer and publisher of video games for mobile devices.
